When we say homemade chocolate pie we mean it! Quick and easy, this chocolate dessert can be turned into vegan in no time. Accompany it with a glass of Commandaria from Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades to complete every meal in unforgettable way!


For the chocolate pie:

  • 1¼ cups flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup cocoa
  • 2 tbsp. baking powder
  • 2 pinches of salt
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk (or vegan milk)
  • 50 gr. melted cold butter, cold (or margarine)

In addition:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¼ cup cocoa
  • 1⅓ cup boiling water


  1. Put the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, salt in a bowl and mix.
  2. Add the vanilla, the butter and the milk and mix.
  3. Grease a tin and pour the mixture in.
  4. In a bowl, mix the extra sugar with the cocoa and sprinkle it on the raw chocolate pie.
  5. Slowly pour the boiling water over the chocolate pie.
  6. Bake the chocolate pie at 170°C/air on the middle rack, for about 25-30 minutes or at 180°C/ heating elements, on the lower rack for about 35-40 minutes, until its surface is stabilised.
  7. The chocolate pie is not cut. Serve it with a spoon, next to a glass of dessert wine. And what could be better than Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades Commandaria?
